中国科大大纽约校友会换届

 中国科学技术大学大纽约地区校友会在11月8日举行了换届选举，理事会一致通过了新的执委会主席决定，两位新的联席会长马华强（9503）和黄溯（0001/0017）已上任，宣旭（0017)与孙浩瑛（SA06204）已离任，不在担任校友会会长职位。

2014~2016届联席会长简介：

马华强– Co-President

Huaqiang Ma (9503), graduated from Department of Chemical Physics. After graduation, he came to US continuing my study first in Chemical Physics, then in Applied Mathematics at the University of Maryland. He currently works as a quant at Wells Fargo. During his years in both USTC and Maryland, he was active in several student/alumni organizations, including the Student Union at USTC, CSSA, and USTC Alumni Association in the Greater DC Area, where he organized and participated in various events. He is glad to have the chance to serve the alumni community by joining the board of USTCAA-GNY.

黄溯 – Co-President

Su Huang (0001 and 0017) graduated from USTC in 2004 with a Bachelor of Statistics. He is now working as a Marketing Scientist at MarketShare, a marketing consulting firm. He also holds a Ph.D. degree of Economics from City University of New York (CUNY) Graduate Center. He has been in New York City since 2005. He was one of the founders and the vice president of Economic Society of USTC, and organized various events in CUNY. He is glad to have the chance to serve the alumni community by joining the board of USTCAA-GNY.

2014~2016届理事会成员简介：

郝艺 – Chair of the Board of Directors

Yi Hao (8305) is in charge of the China Program in Pingry School, an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in kindergarten through Grade 12 after teaching Chinese for four years there. Previously she was the Chair of PTA and the Board of Trustee of the Chinese School for three years. She worked in high tech industry focusing on technical sales of computer services, project management and human resources planning prior to her career in education. Yi Hao graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. She earned a MS in Computer Science from New York University while giving birth to two daughters. Her two girls both went to their college of choice: Yale and Harvard, after graduating from the Pingry School.

马俊 - Director

Dr. Jun Ma (8009) joined the Board of Directors of Vasomedical in 2007 and was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer in late 2008. With Vasomedical, he has transformed the companyfrom a single-device business into an international entity with multiple product lines and multiple business units, including an exclusive representation business with GE Healthcare started in 2010 and three China-based medical device companies that the company successfully acquired in 2011 and 2014. Previously, Dr. Ma held various academic, consulting and executive positions. He possesses extensive experience across industries such as automotive, aerospace, biomedical, environmental, manufacturing and medical devices, both domestically and internationally. He has been involved in many business transactions in China, including M&A, joint venture and contract manufacturing. Dr. Ma holds a BS in Precision Machinery and Instrumentation from the University of Science and Technology of China and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.

严晓东 - Director

Yan (8002) is the Founder and CEO of DIA Associates. Dr. Yan has developed a unique approach to help business grow through the integration of strategy and analytics. He has advised Fortune 100 clients in financial services, telecom, insurance and other industries for almost 20 years. Prior to founding DIA Associates, he was the Head of the Growth Analytics Practice and the Managing Director at Opera Solutions, Co-Founder and Partner of Inductis, Engagement Manager and Founding Member of the Pricing and Product Design Practice at the Mitchell Madison Group, and Staff Manager at AT&T/Bell Labs. Dr. Yan pursued his PhD in Economics and Game Theory at SUNY Stony Brook. He holds an MA in Economics from SUNY Stony Brook, an MS in Computer Science from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a BS in Management Sciences with a minor in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China.

黄晓舟 - Director

Dr. Xiaozhou Huang (8204) has over 20 years’ experience in financial industry and currently works as a VP of investment risk management at Alliance Bernstein, an asset management firm in New York. He is responsible for firm wide risk analytics and reporting for equity, fixed income, multi-asset, and alternative investment products. His prior experience includes global equity statistical arbitrage portfolio manager at MLP, fixed income quantitative analyst at JPMorgan, and consumer credit analyst at Citigroup. Dr. Huang holds a Ph.D. degree in theoretical physics from University of Southern California, and a B.S. degree in physics from USTC.

熊辉 - Director

Dr. Hui Xiong (9010) is currently a Professor and the Director of Rutgers Center for Information Assurance at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. His general area of research is data mining,with a focus on developing effective and efficient data analysis techniques for emerging data intensive applications. He has published prolifically in refereed journals and conference proceedings. He is the co-Editor-in-Chief of Encyclopedia of GIS by Springer, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE) as well as the Knowledge and Information Systems (KAIS) journal. He has served regularly on the organization and program committees of numerous conferences. Dr. Xiong received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota (UMN) in 2005, a BE in Automation from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), and an MS in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore (NUS).

宣旭 - Director

Xu Xuan (0017) graduated from USTC in 2004 with a Bachelor of Economics. He is now working as a Director & Actuary at Prudential Financial. Prior to that, he worked for CAI Capital Management in NYC and Taikang Life Insurance Company in China. He also holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University. Xu is a CFA charter holder, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of American Academy of Actuaries. He has served as a board member of USTCAAGNY since 2007 and was previously the Treasurer of the association.

徐洁 - Secretary

Jie Xu (0104) obtained a B.S. degree in Applied Physics from USTC in 2005. She came to the US in 2006 and completed her Ph.D. in Physics from the College of William and Mary in 2013. She is currently a risk analyst at Citi. She has been serving in various positions for student organizations since high school, from dance club to performing arts group, from Chinese Student & Scholars Association to Physics Graduate Student Association, etc. She is delighted to join the executive board of USTCAAGNY.

王川 - Treasurer

Chuan Wang (0317), graduated from USTC in 2007 and received her Master degree from Columbia University in 2009. She volunteered in several Student’s Associations and United Nations. Currently, she is a Associate Officer at AllianceBernstein, an Asset Management Company, specialized in financial derivatives investment. She also had experience at KPMG Quantitative Advisory Service, Moody's KMV and Marathon Asset Management.

张万德 – VP, Events

Zhang Wande (0209）is a FX strategist in Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He graduated from USTC in 2006 with a Bachelor Degree in Engineering. He also holds a Master degree from The University of Chicago, a PhD degree from University of California, San Diego, and a Master degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

张毅 – VP, Events

Yi Zhang (0300) graduated from USTC in 2007. He participated in ACM/ICPC and RoboGame in USTC. He currently works as an equity quant in JP Morgan. He also holds a PhD in High Energy Physics from Rutgers University in 2012. He is willing to dedicate his time and efforts to USTCAAGNY and make it a better and well-rounded community.

应凌航 – VP, Events

Linghang Ying (0302）, a class member of 0302, graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Physics. Later that year, he went to Tulane University in New Orleans to study in the PhD program in Physics. After graduated from Tulane, he moved to New Jersey and currently works in Risk Analytics group in Citigroup. Also, he served as a board member of USTC Alumni Foundation since 2010. He is very happy to join the community of USTC alumni association in the greater New York area and willing to try his best to contribute to the community.

黄晓捷 – VP, Communication

Xiaojie Huang (0510) graduated from USTC with a Bachelor’s degree in Automation in 2009. He received his M.S., M.Phil., and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Yale University. He is currently a research scientist at GE Global Research. His research is focused on image processing and analysis with applications to medical imaging and industrial imaging. He would like to contribute to the USTC alumni community by serving on the board of USTCAAGNY.

王威 – VP, Communication

Wei Wang (0517) is a PhD student at Department of Statistics at Columbia University. He graduated from USTC in 2009 Bachelor of Science degree and is expected to receive his doctorate degree from Columbia University in 2015. He is currently the manager of USTCAAGNY Google Group platform.

钟浩 – VP, Mentorship

Hao Zhong (0723) graduated from USTC with his Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Information Science and Technology in 2011. After that, he spent two years at York University in Toronto and obtained his Masters’ degree in computer science in 2013. In the meanwhile, he served USTC Alumni Association in the Greater Toronto Area as an event organizer. Currently, he is a Ph.D. student in Management at Rutgers Business School (Newark, NJ), specilizing in the research on data analysis and knowledge discovery. He is very pleased to join USTCAAGNY and willing to make his contributions whenever needed.

刘富冲 – VP, Mentorship

Fuchong Liu (0601) has a BS in Mathematics from University of Science and Technology of China, an MA in Mathematics from University of Colorado Boulder and an MS in Mathematics in Finance from Courant Institute, New York University. He used to serve as a Vice President of CSSA-CU Boulder. He is currently a strategist at Goldman Sachs.
