Data Programmer/Analyst - Atlanta and Seattle openings

Summary:
We are looking for a temporary or permanent programmer/analyst to help us maintain innovative solutions for different industries. We leverage advanced analytics and sophisticated technology, but need additional programming/database experts to help automate solutions for our clients.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Working on very large enterprise-level data warehouse, in hundreds of Terabyte level. Expertise in relational MPP systems: Teradata, Netezza.

• Write ad hoc SQL, perform SQL analysis to summarize data for business use.

• Write technical specifications for the summaries and procedures.

• Ad-hoc ETL between systems. Use loading/Exporting tools. Transfer files between platforms.

• Clarify and document data and report requirements of client and analytic team.

• Run and maintain monthly/weekly jobs.

Other responsibilities:

• Involvement in Analyzing and understanding business requirements.

• Building concise data definitions of Business metrics.

• Research, study and understand the data elements in a big corporate data warehouse environment.

Requirements for position:

Education: BA, BS required; MS or MBA preferred

Preferred disciplines of study include Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering.

General Qualifications:

• Good understanding of relational database technology and architecture, differences between transaction system and warehouse system.

• Working experience on large EDW environment, preferable MPP systems like Teradata, Netezza.

• An ability to adapt and work in different software and hardware environments.

• Working knowledge of data extracting/loading tools, like Fastexport/Fastload.

• Be a team player, and quick learner.

• Be able to work under tight timelines and the ability to multi-task.

Ideal candidate will also possess:

• Strong Unix Shell scripting

• Strong SQL Coding skills

• Knowledge of Wireless communication network/Telecom/Communications Industry

• Knowledge of other Big Data in industries such as Telematics & Energy

• Knowledge of a CDR (Call detail record)

Practical Work Experience:

At least 2 years experience as a SQL (Programmer/Analyst) along with at least 2 years of working within a Unix based environment.
