As the original cloud service; ADP collects and processes the data to support the payrolls and W-2s of roughly 1 in 6 US citizens. ADP is also the market leader across the full spectrum of Human Capital Management. Starting with the employee recruiting process; ADP collects the employment behavior data on an employee’s benefit elections, timecard management, performance and compensation reviews, competency assessments, and succession planning. When an employee ultimately moves on in their career from one company to the next… chances are they will start again at an ADP client.

With Data as its middle name; ADP is now poised to change the game of human behavior analytics pertaining to a company’s employees. ADP Analytics provides its clients not only the ability to read the pulse of its own human capital…but also provides the information on how they stack up within their industry, along with the best courses of action in order to achieve its goals through quantifiable insights.

Through ADP’s BigData Platform, the Analytics team is looking for a Data Scientist to help explore and find the patterns and signals across the ADPs and external data sources. Understanding the best job offers to land and keep top talent, recognizing the signs of when a critical resource could be looking to leave, and understanding the best practices of HR management in order to optimize a client’s workforce are all within reach by understanding and exploring ADP’s Data. ADP Analytics is utilizing cutting edge technologies to collect, cleanse, analyze and understand data that transcends the +500k clients who utilize our products. The desired candidate will have skills across numerous technologies such as Hadoop, Machine Learning, NoSQL Database, R Programming and other advanced data modeling and statistical analyses tools. The data scientist role and his/her analyses will help drive product direction, and ultimately help predict both successful and unsuccessful customer patterns to their business.

Skills.

Location:New York

Familiarity with or competency with statistics packages: R, SAS, SPSS.

Solid background with databases: DW appliances (Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum), Oracle, MySQL.

Experience or interest in clusters: Hadoop, Hadoop streaming, map/reduce,hive, scm, hdp, pig, mahout, madlib.

NoSql a plus: mongo, Cassandra, etc Able to code what's necessary to answer data questions: python, java, c, or other OSes: Linux, Unix.

Experience data wrangling/etl.

Interest or skill in data visualizations that answer questions succinctly.

Data modeling

Interest or experience in collaborative filtering, clustering, regression analysis, machine learning, nlp, algorithms.

HCM domain a plus.

Understanding of Business KPI's.

Internet data sources, Jason, XML, bson.

A/B testing.

Intuition about data and data mash-ups.

Work well independently or in groups.

Not afraid to work complex/seemingly intractable problems.

Able to communicate effectively with others.
